Description

We’re learning how to Rent Smart in Wisconsin, with Financial Security Educator, Alana Perez-Valliere! This free, six-module course is designed to help those who have little to no rental experience and those who have had difficulty obtaining rental housing. Suitable for Adults 18+, registration is required.

Understanding Renters & Landlord Rights - Responsibility for repairs and upkeep are common issues between landlords and tenants. This module covers who is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and care while emphasizing the importance of good communication. Participants will also learn ways to protect their property and their security deposit.

*Participants that complete all 6 modules will earn a Rent Smart certificate!
No rental history? Landlords like Rent Smart certificates because they indicate an applicant has completed a program teaching the skills needed for a successful tenancy.
Poor rental or credit history? This certificate can give landlords more confidence in renting to individuals with a poor rental or credit history, or other potential challenges, because it demonstrates the applicant's effort to improve.
