Cruising Through History: Alexander The Great

Alexander the Great was an ancient Greek king of Macedon who lived from 356-323 BC. He was the son of King Philip II of Macedon and was tutored by the philosopher Aristotle. When his father was assassinated, Alexander became king and went on to conquer much of the known world. Alexander is regarded as one of the greatest military strategists and leaders in history 1. He conquered most of the known world at the time, including Egypt, Persia, and parts of India, and left behind a vast empire that was eventually divided among his generals. Despite dying at the young age of just 32, Alexander's legacy has endured through the centuries as a symbol of military conquest and cultural achievement. Scott and Zander discuss Alexander's rise and how he scored many military achievements. They also bring up how his legacy is both celebrated and scorned across cultures.
