Read (and enjoyed) in 2024!

Here are books that I read and enjoyed in 2024! (This is essentially a list of everything I've read and finished, because I don't have a problem DNF-ing anything I'm not jiving with.) I typically read Fantasy & Science Fiction the most (& I select in this area for KPL), but I love cross-genre reading and frequently hop around based on my mood. Top 5 of the year so far (in order read): ✰The Greenbone Saga (starting with Jade City) by Fonda Lee ✰Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah ✰The Tainted Cup by Robert Bennett Jackson ✰The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon ✰Dungeon Crawler Carl (Series) by Matt Dinniman (#1-5 read in 2024)* Honorable Mention: These Burning Stars by Bethany Jacobs *Dungeon Crawler Carl is originally published independently and Books 1-3 are the only ones traditionally published so far. The remaining books appear to be releasing in 2025, and so are not on the list below. I read through Book 5 in 2024 - and they were all bangers.

  • ✰✰✰✰✰ Great for fans of humorous, fast-paced fantasy and oddly enough, I'd say slice-of-life, will enjoy this LitRPG series. A few of the jokes fell a bit flat for me, but ultimately I had so much fun on the ride, that was overshadowed. After the…

  • ✰✰✰ This novella pairs a fast-paced space heist with a sweet romance, that ultimately fell a bit flat for me. My favorite part ended up being the letters listed at the end of the book, detailing some of the aftermath. This is supposed to be the…
