  My partner finally got me to watch the anime, and I love it so so much. I have been reading the manga and it's so good! We will also be getting the light novels soon, which I have heard are fantastic. 10/10 recommend all of it!!

  This is probably my top book of 2025. I listened to the audio, which is narrated by John himself, and I was enraptured. He does a fantastic exploration of history, science, and how tuberculosis has shaped our modern reality as we know it.

• Hades II

  My 24/7 obsession right now! I loved Hades, and Hades II is just as good if not better. If you like Greek mythology and roguelikes, definitely check this out! (Also, did you know the library has a bunch of video games you can check out? Now you do!)

  I really loved this one! I love a main character with disabilities and differences, especially when it ends up tied into a broader horror narrative and everything gets reaaaaal spooky.

  This came to me on recommendation from another librarian. I was really struggling with keeping up with things around the house on top of the rest of my life - this was a gamechanger for reframing my thinking and giving me new strategies.

  This is basically Men in Black but instead of being like the FBI, they're insurance investigators hunting down aliens committing insurance fraud. It slaps. I can't wait to continue reading the series as it is released!

  I know I am late to the game for the hype on this one, but with a new season in 2026, it's timely, at least! I love horror and genuinely love any sort of survival horror with undertones of witchcraft and cannibalism, so this was an obvious win.
